Product Preach – Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks. SEND NUDES (Collection)

Beauty

I have a strange relationship with lipsticks. They are the thing I collect the most and probably wear the least. In both my fashion style as well as the makeup I wear, one thing that is always pretty much top of my priorities is comfort!  This obsession with my lips still feeling moisturised and effortlessly bare means that I do spend the majority of my existence in Vaseline, Carmex and Nivea Lip butter. Despite owning a full drawer of lip glosses, sticks, paints and stains – you name it, I probably have it, and don’t wear it. That unhealthy ‘buy but rarely wear’ relationship changed drastically when I discovered Jeffree Star and his glorious matte liquid lips.

Star Wars: Return Of The Just Jolie.

Lifestyle

The struggle for a title continues to be very real, no matter how long I continue this blogging shenanigans. If any of you have been here since the start, you will know I can never produce a normal title; one of my loveable quirks I suppose eh? I believe the last blogging return post title was in the form of a well known Eminem lyric, I’ll let you figure that one out yourself. Regardless, here I am, back again in word form! Pleased to see me?

Product Preach – Dove Self Tanning Body Lotion.

Beauty

Winter is coming, (and yes I will be continuing to use that Game Of Thrones pun until it is dead and buried.) and with that comes the palest of pale. Some people won’t understand the true struggle of the pale person on this end of the year; I can quite literally become transparent, there is no foundation light enough, on no-makeup days I’m constantly asked if I’m ill, and I quite simply feel a tad awful. I’m by no means calling out all pale people, a lot of ‘paley’s’ look absolutely fab; there are just some days for me where I don’t feel good in my pale skin – and that’s when this product comes in handy.

3 Skincare Faves You Need In Your Life.

Beauty

There was a pretty damn wonderful offer on the Boots website the other week which easily reeled me in as the bargain hunter I am – thanks a lot Tim Wonnacott. 3 For 2 on all skincare really got me excited and you bet I spent well over an hour narrowing down my choices to a cost savvy three I am now extremely chuffed with. An eye cream to hopefully delay my wrinkly bags (is that a euphamisim??), a Body Shop tea tree facial wash dupe and a forgotten world class moisturiser.

Product Preach – YSL Black Opium Perfume.

Beauty

I don’t know about you, but I love to smell of smelly things (the good kind, obviously.). I can see myself 10 years in the future with a grand 30+ collection of smellies, and I will have no regrets about the fact. I have already accumulated a small collection of perfumes, ranging in price from £3.50 (for 50ml) to this one I am preaching about today at £58 – Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium.

Product Preach – SophDoesNails X Makeup Revolution Collaboration.

Beauty

Hello lovely people! I hope you are all doing well! Although I am ridiculously invested in the world of YouTube, I’m not one to physically invest in every single collaboration within the web. I often find them over priced, over hyped and corporate feeling, with a clear lack of personality and effort. However, obviously (from the fact I bought both elements!) I saw a clear difference within the SOPH X MAKEUP REVOLUTION collab, and I will tell you for why in this very post.

Product Preach – Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour.

Beauty

My Product Preach series has been my longest standing blog ‘format’ to date. Before my Blog-a-break, I used to bash one of these bad boys out once a week without fail! I would like to return to that, as these were such an easy, enjoyable format; which if I remember, you all used to enjoy too! Well, lets start this ball rolling again shall we? First, with a lip product which is my new ‘go-to’; and that really means something in my book, because I have a shed full (metaphorically) of lip sh**. I was so surprisingly blown away by none other than the Rimmel Stay Matte liquid lip colours.

I Was In A Fashion Show.

Fashion, Lifestyle

Hey chums – so I did something recently… It was completely out of character and it brought me slap bang out of my comfort zone; but I am so glad that I did it. I took part in a charity fashion show which was in partnership with John Lewis raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and it was blooming amazing!

JolieFloral.jpg ART

I was a model in the show, something I didn’t think I would ever dream of saying in a million years. A year ago, you wouldn’t have caught me walking in front of 10 people, never mind near 150! I would have run away from that opportunity the second I knew about it because I would be scared of a) what people would think of me, b) if I’d make a fool of myself, and c) what people would think of me x2. I have grown so much in this last year, and I have learnt to literally not give two shindigs of what other people will think – and my life has improved dramatically with that mind set!

We were all dressed in clothes from new collections from different brands sold in John Lewis. From Ted Baker, Coast, Whistles, French Connection and so much more, it was like a dream world of beautiful clothes that were completely out of my price range! For example, I was put in a beautiful off the shoulder black jumper… It was £200. A £200 jumper (What?! I know.). Of course, I wasn’t complaining; I got to strut my stuff in some stunning pieces (my monochrome floral midi skirt was my personal fave.) with two of my best friends, Gurveen and Lib, who I’m also showing you below as they look absolutely fabulous.

The event itself was a raging success, raising over £2,000 for teenage cancer units within the North East , I was very proud to bring myself out of my comfort zone for such a brilliant cause. Well done to everyone who made it possible, it were brill.

I Need YOUR Help.

Lifestyle

URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL SELFIE TAKERS ALIKE. Sorry, I won’t shout at to you for the entire post – I do need your assistance after all, more specifically, your face.

If you are unaware, I take art as an A level, and my exam is fast approaching. I dread looking at my exam countdown, but just for you all to have an idea, it is at the 20 day mark *Commence panic stations*. It’s hard to describe the process to anyone who doesn’t take Art, however, basically I am working towards a 15 hour exam where I produce a final outcome, which I’d love you all to feature in.

My project has been all about female body image within the media, and how it is impacting our society. In light of this, I will be constructing a photo collage of as many selfies as I can muster, using it as part of my background – and that is where you all come in!

If everyone reading this could send me an unedited, unfiltered selfie, face or body (but more faces if possible, or both if you fancy!), I would love you forever… That’s quite strong, but it would be greatly appreciated! If you send me a selfie it will then feature in my final piece, which I will certainly show you all in the end – it’s only fair!

To send me your UNEDITED (very important) selfies, you can:

Now, I don’t want to be rude to my muses, but time is of the essence, so the sooner you can send me them, the better. Thank you SO much to anyone who does this, and remember, you get to be in art, so it’s pretty damn cool!(?)
