3 Skincare Faves You Need In Your Life.

Beauty

There was a pretty damn wonderful offer on the Boots website the other week which easily reeled me in as the bargain hunter I am – thanks a lot Tim Wonnacott. 3 For 2 on all skincare really got me excited and you bet I spent well over an hour narrowing down my choices to a cost savvy three I am now extremely chuffed with. An eye cream to hopefully delay my wrinkly bags (is that a euphamisim??), a Body Shop tea tree facial wash dupe and a forgotten world class moisturiser.

Product Preach: Seventeen Define and Contour Kit.

Beauty

Welcome back to the land of Just Jolie! I’m just popping in with a very affordable preach of a product. If highlighting and contouring is something you are, or would like to get into; this product is the perfect start or addition to your collection! This contour kit is by Seventeen, a brand which I think gets a bad rep. It was definitely where my first ever makeup products came from (when we all wore blue eye shadow and no mascara.. OOOH and dream matte mouse!) , but I don’t think that means it should be forgotten once we become more experienced, it still has some darn good stuff – like this little gem!

We can begin with the wonderful ‘NARZ-like’ packaging which immediately gives this highly affordable product (£5.99) an expensive look which is extremely attractive. the palette contains a very useful bronzer for contouring and a luminous highlighter also, both which are very wearable shades. They won’t knock your socks off with amazing pigmentation and extreme shimmer or anything; but what they are, is very useful as everyday shades that you’ll actually get more use from than a great number of special occasion, expensive products I’m sure you also possess. If this contour kit is anything, it is value for money.

Despite them both actually being extremely useful, the one which I was most impressed by is the bronzer, it is so universally wearable for many skin types and colours. So many drugstore bronzers are very red toned, which isn’t actually something you want to contour with. A contour shade should generally be more cool toned in order to look like a shadow, and I’m so glad that Seventeen have gone against the grain and released this cool bronzer – it’s simply brilliant.

The colour itself is very build able which I like for it’s everyday purpose, as you can make it as natural or intense as you please. The highlight is not going to astound you with it’s pigmentation, but sometimes it is nice to have a natural looking highlighter in your makeup collection, as many of the amazing highlighters are sometimes over powering in an every day context. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this product, as the price tag isn’t a turn off –  why say no?

Fashion

To all reading this expecting a stream of pictures containing female behinds, you will be bitterly disappointed, I am in fact talking about boots, just boots…Sorry. To fellow shoe lovers out there, congratulations!

Boots are pretty essential for this time of year, to keep the chilling wind and wet out, and the feet within cosy and comfortable. Here are 5 brilliant booty’s (still talking about shoes.) in a variety of prices and styles to suit just about anyone’s preference. Maybe you will find something that takes your fancy…

1. Heeled Ankle Boots – Primark £12

Boots can be an expensive business, especially when the buyer wants to ensure quality as well as a bargain. If this situation sounds familiar, I strongly recommend a visit to the boot selection in Primark. It is unbelievable how good the quality is when seeing the price tag that they possess. Unfortunately the downside to Primark products is that the stock is constantly changing, so finding these exact boots could be nigh on impossible. But the variety is so vast I’m sure you could find something very similar.

2. Deep Gusset Low Cleated Chelsea Boots – Boohoo.com £30

These boots are simply perfect; if you can’t tell they are my favourite. This Chelsea boot style is slap bang on trend and so versatile, I wear them with absolutely everything, from skirts to jeans and even dresses. The chunky sole is very fashionable this season, and practical for this Winter filled with the wettest and most icy months of the year. It’s the best £30 I’ve spent in a long time and I recommend them so very much.

3. Double Zip Ankle Boots – Dune £45

A large contrast to the chunky shoes above, these are for the more delicate fashionista. These are an extremely cute style, I love the heightened front and the double zip detailing, adding interest to a basic style. Often referred to as elf-like, but in the prettiest way possible.

4. Lace Up Cuffed Ankle Boots – £45

These winter boots possess all the correct attributes; cuffs to keep the ankles cosy (something we all need..), laces to keep the feet secure and warm, and gold detailing to keep its wearer feeling fashionably fabulous. Knit and material cuffed boots are a common sight this Winter, so I love this feminine and chic take on a conventionally masculine, Timberland style combat boot.

These boots are from River Island’s range last year so they are no longer available, however, I have seen many similar currently in River Island as well as New Look.

5. Carvela Flat Ankle Boots – £160

In come the big dogs, £160 of oh my god. It is Christmas time, a time when presents are often exchanged, I am sure these boots may well make their way onto your wish list. I believe when spending this much on one single pair of shoes, you are guaranteed a reliable pair of shoes for a rather long time. This pair of boots are no exception as they are made of real leather, and real leather is a durable gem.
