Product Preach – Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks. SEND NUDES (Collection)

Beauty

I have a strange relationship with lipsticks. They are the thing I collect the most and probably wear the least. In both my fashion style as well as the makeup I wear, one thing that is always pretty much top of my priorities is comfort!  This obsession with my lips still feeling moisturised and effortlessly bare means that I do spend the majority of my existence in Vaseline, Carmex and Nivea Lip butter. Despite owning a full drawer of lip glosses, sticks, paints and stains – you name it, I probably have it, and don’t wear it. That unhealthy ‘buy but rarely wear’ relationship changed drastically when I discovered Jeffree Star and his glorious matte liquid lips.

Product Preach – SophDoesNails X Makeup Revolution Collaboration.

Beauty

Hello lovely people! I hope you are all doing well! Although I am ridiculously invested in the world of YouTube, I’m not one to physically invest in every single collaboration within the web. I often find them over priced, over hyped and corporate feeling, with a clear lack of personality and effort. However, obviously (from the fact I bought both elements!) I saw a clear difference within the SOPH X MAKEUP REVOLUTION collab, and I will tell you for why in this very post.

Product Preach – Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour.

Beauty

My Product Preach series has been my longest standing blog ‘format’ to date. Before my Blog-a-break, I used to bash one of these bad boys out once a week without fail! I would like to return to that, as these were such an easy, enjoyable format; which if I remember, you all used to enjoy too! Well, lets start this ball rolling again shall we? First, with a lip product which is my new ‘go-to’; and that really means something in my book, because I have a shed full (metaphorically) of lip sh**. I was so surprisingly blown away by none other than the Rimmel Stay Matte liquid lip colours.

Product Preach: Seventeen Define and Contour Kit.

Beauty

Welcome back to the land of Just Jolie! I’m just popping in with a very affordable preach of a product. If highlighting and contouring is something you are, or would like to get into; this product is the perfect start or addition to your collection! This contour kit is by Seventeen, a brand which I think gets a bad rep. It was definitely where my first ever makeup products came from (when we all wore blue eye shadow and no mascara.. OOOH and dream matte mouse!) , but I don’t think that means it should be forgotten once we become more experienced, it still has some darn good stuff – like this little gem!

We can begin with the wonderful ‘NARZ-like’ packaging which immediately gives this highly affordable product (£5.99) an expensive look which is extremely attractive. the palette contains a very useful bronzer for contouring and a luminous highlighter also, both which are very wearable shades. They won’t knock your socks off with amazing pigmentation and extreme shimmer or anything; but what they are, is very useful as everyday shades that you’ll actually get more use from than a great number of special occasion, expensive products I’m sure you also possess. If this contour kit is anything, it is value for money.

IMG_0532

Despite them both actually being extremely useful, the one which I was most impressed by is the bronzer, it is so universally wearable for many skin types and colours. So many drugstore bronzers are very red toned, which isn’t actually something you want to contour with. A contour shade should generally be more cool toned in order to look like a shadow, and I’m so glad that Seventeen have gone against the grain and released this cool bronzer – it’s simply brilliant.

The colour itself is very build able which I like for it’s everyday purpose, as you can make it as natural or intense as you please. The highlight is not going to astound you with it’s pigmentation, but sometimes it is nice to have a natural looking highlighter in your makeup collection, as many of the amazing highlighters are sometimes over powering in an every day context. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this product, as the price tag isn’t a turn off –  why say no?

Product Preach: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream.

Beauty

What is up my young cherubs? Yes, you are all angelic in my book, and there for you deserve the best when it comes to my recommendations. So today, I’m slapping you around the chops with a Product Preach. It is one of the lippy variety – so pucker up!

IMG_0526

I’m normally extremely weary of liquid products which dry to matte, as they tend to be extremely drying, and my lips are twice as unforgiving as other lips when it comes to dryness. However, on the recommendation of my good pal Liv, I tried out this one and was blown away! It is both moisturising in consistency and smooth-looking on the lip, it also feels very weightless once it’s been on for a long period of time. There just doesn’t seem to be a downside to this product!

The colour is a deep plum which is drop dead gorgeous and slap bang on trend! It’s also very buildable and the pigmentation is fabulous, so you can look as little or lot vampy (bad grammar but you get my point) as you’d like! It one of those extremely complimentary colours for your teeth. Hang in with me on this, but you must agree sometimes you put a colour on your lips and your eyes don’t admire your lips themselves, but instead think “dayum, my teeth look hella good!”. I believe it is the blue tone of the red, that brings out the white in your teeth, but whatever it is, it’s fabulous!

In terms of durability, I can tell you that after this picture was taken I went out and drank many a drink with my refillable at Nandos, and ate a great deal of chicken; I have never seen such durability! Not many lip products ever stand up to the Nandos test – but this sucker is unbelievable, and passed with flying colours. If I ever wear a bold lip out to eat, by half way through the main the only remainder is a bold line of colour lining my lips in true 90’s tribute, it is definitely not a good look. However, this lip cream simply does not wear, and when it does slightly lose its brightness, it loses it as a whole, which I must admit is 10x more flattering.

And that is that! I would highly recommend picking one of these up, it’s my first delve in to NYX and I am highly impressed! I’d love to know what else you all recommend from NYX in the comments below!

I am off to London tomorrow for a few days for an art trip, so be excited to see what I get up to later in the week! See you then.

Product Preach: Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette.

Beauty

Hello there my dearies! I’m sorry for the slight lacking in the post department recently, but last week was a very busy week in terms of university offer excitement as well as my driving theory test, which I passed! For now, I am back to normality and hitting you with a family favourite (obviously not a family favourite, imagine that! Gathering round the the screen for your weekly dose of Just Jolie) – you guessed it, mainly by the title but play along; it’s Product Preach time.

IMG_0413_Fotor

When I decided to preach the Urban Decay 2 Basics palette, I was absolutely dumb struck as to why I haven’t thought to write about it sooner; because it quite frankly is my most used eyeshadow palette which I own. I WEAR IT EVERY DAY. Obviously not every day of my life ever, but positively more days worn than not. I was gifted this for my birthday by fellow blogger buddy, Holly of Just A Fashion Blogger; I have never made more use out of a present and Holly, I am forever thankful.

Each and every colour has a use, and they do so to the best possible degree:

  • Skimp – the perfect highlighter shade for inner corner and brow bone.
  • Stark – My FAVOURITE simple, ‘all over the lid’ colour.
  • Frisk – Cool toned crease shade, also occasionally used on eyebrows.
  • Cover – Warm toned crease shade, I pick and choose between the two depending on my mood.
  • Primal – Darker crease shade if you feel like going for it that day.
  • Undone – For outer corner when you really are gunning for it that day.

I literally can’t praise these colours enough, as a brown eyed girl, I think the shades are extremely complimentary; but the beauty of of a nude palette is that they go with literally every eye colour and look stunning either way.

IMG_0421_Fotor

The consistency of the shadows is quite literally silky smooth, they blend like an absolute dream, and they all compliment each other so well that it doesn’t matter that they’re nude – the eye looks you can create are infinite. It is SUCH value for money, an extremely affordable £23 compared to the sometimes unreachable leap of £38 for other Urban Decay Naked palettes. In my opinion it’s such a better purchase to be honest, as you know you will make use of every single shade, when some people only use their favourite 5 shades from their Naked palette, and pay double the price for the pleasure!

Make sure the next Urban Decay palette you pick up is this one, you will NOT regret it! You should also know that the second after I put down my camera, I put my finger nail into PRIMAL and almost cried. The price I pay for being a blogger.
