Jumper Weather Is Coming.

Fashion

It took me all of my might to not name this post ‘Winter Is Coming’, but then I realised that that metaphorical winter which includes white walkers, the night king, and undead dragons is already here. That simply isn’t the case in real life, Winter ain’t here yet, although you bet I wish I had me a real life Jon Snow. Anyway… That slightly off topic intro leads me in no related way onto the true focus of todays blog post – jumper weather is almost upon us, and I love me a jumper.

OOTD: Brick Lane.

Fashion

Hell chums! I’m returning to the humble OOTD post as a tribute to London Fashion Week, which is happening as you read! This look was one which I wore on my trip to London last week (feel free to watch my vlog here!) and the pictures were taken in the very trendy hotspot – Brick Lane!

Boyfriend Coat – New Look

Skirt – Topshop

Plimsoles – H&M

I must say, I absolutely adored this look. Whenever I visit London I feel like I can experiment slightly more with my outfits, and I pair things that I wouldn’t have the guts to in everyday life. For example, I had never worn this coat with a skirt before this day, and now it’s my favourite way to wear it! It shows that it’s worth just taking a leap and throwing some things together and just giving it a go – you never know what you might conjure up.

Ribbed Jumper – F&F

Necklace – My Grandma (aka not for sale, sorry!)

Bag – George

Please excuse my face in this one, it was just a good one to show off the details of the outfit – forget the face! It’s all actually extremely basic, but that’s what I like about it as I feel despite the plain-ness of each individual piece; the outfit as a whole flows very well.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

My Happy Place – My Bed.

Lifestyle

Happiness. It’s something that can’t be held, it’s hard to describe in just one sentence, it’s the feeling that one strives for. We all get happiness from different things, people and places. I’m made happy by the smallest things; peeling a satsuma in one peel, when you get the beat drop of a song correct, getting more than two retweets. All these things make me happy, and they make me twice as happy when I can partake in these activities in my happy place – my bed.

You can be the most adventurous person in the entire world, and your bed will still fill you with joy at the end of a long day. It is one equilibrium in all of our lives, one place that is ours. It’s ours to share with who we treasure the most, or keep for ourselves to indulge in the warm comfort of home. It’s ours to keep for strictly sleeping in the dead of night, or to hibernate in for days upon end, morphing into a multifunctional den with food, entertainment and comfort at our fingertips.

You bed is a constant within your life that you may well take for granted, but your bed has been there for you through thick and thin. From the time you got flu and were hauled up in bed for a week, to the time that boy royally screwed you over and you cried in bed for hours. What’s the constant? Bed.

So next time you get into your humble foundation in the form of your bed, snuggle in that little bit further and smile at the fact that nothing can change your happy place – your bed is here to stay.

My December In Pictures.

Happy New Year chaps! It genuinely feels like I wrote this post for a longer amount of time than the whole of 2015 lasted; wasn’t it over in approximately 4 mintutes?! Either way I had an absolute blinder of a year, filled with happy memories I will forever treasure. Now, enough of the gushy stuff, this is what happened in December!

DOODLE – I got well into the doodling game in December, I think it happens when you’re meant to be revising for mocks and your pen just wanders. I have no regrets anyway!

WAG1 – A cheeky snap of Tommo; we went for a Wagamamas, rather lovely, but the defining moment was when we discovered that the wifi name was wag1 – and if that manager doesn’t get some sort of award for that, something about this world has gone wrong.

LIV – This is a random one, but I felt extremely happy and festive this day in December. It was an very happy free in sixth form where somehow we all just started drawing. I decided to draw my pal, and it turned out quite snazzy. She just looked too pleased for me not to include her.

CHRISTMAS – I don’t know if you’re aware, but this thing called Christmas happened last month – it was alright. I’M KIDDING IT’S MY GOD DAMN FAVOURITE. I had a very merry Christmas indeed, and you can view that joyous day in my last post.

RING – I was spoilt this christmas, by everyone who got me absolutely anything I thank you so very much! From the voucher I got from my lovely Auntie Sally (I know you read this, love you!), to the beautiful Pandora ring  I got from my boyfriend.

GROUP SELFIE – And I can’t not finish the year with a group selfie with the crew. I have been so lucky in 2015 to have been surrounded by an amazing group of friends who make me happy every single day – it’s smashing.

And that was the fun I got up to in December, I hope it continues into 2016! Ew, I’m so not used to it yet.

Christmas Jumper Haul.

Fashion

December is my favourite month of the year, not only because of Christmas, but because of the lead up to Christmas, which, in my book, is just as exciting as the day itself. Everywhere you go, places are prettier (filled with fairy lights and decorations), people are friendlier (people are in a better mood when surrounded by fairy lights!), and the world is simply better in December!

A Winter staple for me, the festive freak that I am, is christmas jumpers! Whether it be a subtle hint of delicate snowflakes, or a garish 3D affair with baubles hanging off, they are a must have in any shape or form to get us all in that Christmas spirit. Don’t feel the need to spend £50 in Urban Outfitters on something that you will wear for one month of the year, two at a push, and risk getting gravy spilt down during christmas dinner. Get yourself down to Primark and stock up on those fluff filled, sickly sweet, Winter warmers sure to get the biggest Scrooges into the festive mood.

I bought this Christmas Jumper at last year’s Birmingham Clothes Show at a quaint un-named stall for £15. I decided to include it as an example that good quality christmas jumpers can be found absolutely anywhere; a bargain could be waiting for you at your local market, why not see what you can find?snowman xmas collage

And if after having read this post, you still don’t own a christmas jumper and don’t want to buy one, then baah humbug to you my friend.

I’m officially on holiday as of tomorrow *happy dance* so expect a frequent dose of Just Jolie these coming weeks!

Coats.

Fashion, OOTD

The raspy chill of winter is lurking, and it’s that time of the year when nipping out to the shop in a t-shirt and leggings is out of the question – time to bring out those coats! I am a sucker for coats as they complete an outfit and are one thing I am happy to spend a bit more money on, as they’re a winter essential! Here are five types of coats, perfect for these finger numbing months when that extra layer is a must.

1. Biker Jacket – Miss Selfridge

I love this style of coat, even though I understand it’s not for everyone. Some may think it is quite a masculine shape but that is why I enjoy mixing it with more feminine under garments (under the coat, not underwear, naughty.) to make the outfit more balanced. We all need that coat that just makes the world a cozier place, and that is exactly what this is for me. The fur collar and thick lining make for a warm hug, type of experience whenever I put it on. This oversized look is very on trend right now and a style I’m in love with.

2. Boyfriend Jacket / Blazer – New Look

Grey is the new black this season (Although I still love my black) so when this jacket came on sale I just had to snap it up. Quick side note, if you ever have spare money in the Summer time, there are always some amazing deals on coats which would be three times the price in the Winter. For example, this coat was originally £30, I got it for £12 in the Summer sale; if that’s not a bargain I don’t know what is! It’s brilliant quality and even if I’d bought this for its original price, I’d be extremely happy.

3. Leather Jacket – New Look Vintage

Everyone deserves a real leather jacket in their lives. This was my big christmas present around two years ago and I have never gotten so much use out of a present in my life. I am on the side of ‘real leather is best’ when it comes to this argument as it is SUCH a durable material; it can literally last a life time and actually look better with age. Mine is an interesting, almost suede texture, it isn’t shiny like many other leather jackets from renowned shops like Topshop etc. However, I love that mine is original in this sense, as many leather jackets look exactly the same as one and other, which can be very a bit boring. Had I bought it myself I would have probably bought it bigger (My oversized mind takes over), but I’m so glad it is fitting as it is honestly so flattering in arm and body length. Just perfect.

4. Duster Coat – ASOS

Duster coats are the fresh new trend of this winter. They are bold and beautiful, but a daring style that can be difficult to pull off. I definitely wouldn’t recommend a duster coat if you’re just starting off a coat collection as they don’t go with all outfits due to differences in length. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something a bit different, the right outfit can look unbelievable. My friend received this for her birthday a week ago and I couldn’t not include it, it’s just too fabulous. The colour and style together look so elegant and regal, if you can’t tell, I love it.

5. Peter Pan Collar Jacket – Miss Selfridge

This is a lovely, innocent style which is snug around the neck so great for warmth. It’s a coat which actually looks good zipped up, which can’t be said for many other styles (e.g biker jacket is a no go.). This Peter Pan coat is also from Miss Selfridge as my biker jacket is as my friend and I bought them together. They had the most amazing range out last Winter, and when they both went on sale during mid November, we couldn’t believe our luck. They have followed the same format this year as there is currently a ‘Winter Wowzer’ on their website and in stores. It’s definitely worth looking for a deal, you never know what you’ll find!

I realise that none of these coats are waterproof or even have a hood, but they are all heart warminlgy cosy, and that is my top priority in the Winter time, despite how unpractical that can be!

Hope you enjoyed this small insight into all things warm!
