OOTD: Darky & Khaki.

Fashion, OOTD

Can you tell from the title that I’m rusty on this blogging ‘shpeel’? Well I’m going to be getting the oil out on regular occasions from now on to try and loosen things up and get myself back on that wonderful blogging band waggon. I used to absolutely cherish my blog back in its hay day; my life has changed one hell of a lot since then, but I want my blog to return as my one happy constant – So I am back, how are yi?

I thought I would ease myself in with a nice and simple OOTD. It’s probably a bad way to start, but I love more than anything just being far too honest with you all. I regret the black jeans; there, I said it. Looking back I feel some blue jeans would have lightened the outfit up and created much more interest and colour, but hey, I did dark makeup and chose black jeans, maybe it was a reflection of my truly black soul that day. Regardless, the star of the show is 1000% this khaki shirt, which I had a deep, undying love for before I took the financial plunge (plus the sale price made it MUCH  more attractive) and took it home to its rightful owner – me.

Longline Shirt – French Connection (£32 down from £80, yes – EIGHTY)

Vest – just a black vest .com

Black high waisted jeans – Missguided (£20)

Originally advertised as a shirt dress, I saw a very different destiny for this khaki beauty when I gazed upon it for the first time. A destiny of throwing over many an outfit to add another layer, another colour, another texture. The material is soft and thick to layer well in the winter, but not too thick to be uncomfortable as a jacket in the summer. An all-year-rounder, surely that’s what we wish for in every garment? Well that’s what we have in this one, that’s for sure.

The colour blocking of different shades of khaki made me (worringly) happy, as it brings interest to what would otherwise be just another khaki shirt on a very saturated market of khaki shirts. I invite you to tell me to STFU about this bloody shirt, but I just love it!

Choker – Primark (£3 in a set of five. In conclusion, BUY ALL CHOKERS FROM PRIMARK)

Elephant necklace – Passed down from Grandma, not for sale x

Snakeskin bag – Topshop (£20)

Flatform slip-ons – H&M  (£20)

^^^ both not online anymore (although bought recently), so linked similar.

I HIGHLY recommend each of these shops for each clothing type I’ve shown. Topshop bags are honestly such good quality and the prices will surprise you! Like their clothes, they do have some over prized monkeys I don’t dare entertain. But the hidden gems, like this £20 beauty, will be worth the rummage.

It’s pretty much the same story with H&M shoes; if there is a shoe trend, H&M will have followed it to a tea for a truly magnificent price. I recommend you take a gaze upon their wonderful wall of shoe goodness – you won’t regret it.

And that’s about it! I would really appreciate your feedback on this one, any lovely readers that have made it to the end. I’m diving back in, but I’ve sort of forgotten how to swim, so any arm bands of thought, critique or compliment would be highly valued.

See you in the next one! Hope you’re all well,

Just Jolie x
